Ben Johnson Forced to Eat His Words After  Chicago Bears Painful Loss to Green Bay Packers

Matt LaFleur didn’t need to say much after the Green Bay Packers’ statement win over the Chicago Bears. Instead, he let the scoreboard deliver the real message.

After Bears head coach Ben Johnson previously commented about enjoying beating LaFleur twice a year, the Packers’ coach took the high road following Green Bay’s 28–21 victory. When asked if the win felt sweeter because of Johnson’s remarks, LaFleur shut down the narrative.

“It’s Packers-Bears,” LaFleur said. “It’s a great rivalry… that’s the only thing that matters.”

With the win, Green Bay took control of the NFC North race and moved into third place in the NFC standings. Chicago slipped to seventh and lost a key conference tiebreaker, setting the stage for a critical rematch later in the season.

Packers vs Bears: Key Turning Points

The Packers showed resilience despite letting an 11-point halftime lead disappear. Josh Jacobs’ late rushing touchdown proved to be the difference, while Keisean Nixon iced the game with a clutch interception in the end zone.

Green Bay’s defense was tested heavily in the second half, struggling to get off the field as Chicago dominated time of possession. Nixon, who had earlier penalties, redeemed himself with the game-sealing play.

Jordan Love, Christian Watson Power Big-Play Offense

The offense finally looked explosive, as Jordan Love responded after an early interception by throwing three touchdown passes of more than 20 yards.

Christian Watson recorded two long touchdown receptions, creating separation downfield, while Bo Melton added a 45-yard score after slipping behind the Bears’ secondary.

Packers Face Tough Schedule Down the Stretch

Despite taking over the division lead, LaFleur remained focused on the challenges ahead. The Packers now head to Denver to face a red-hot Broncos defense before a crucial rematch with the Bears.

While media attention swirls around coach comments and rivalries, Green Bay’s focus remains clear: stacking wins and finishing strong in the NFC playoff race.
