BYU edges Arizona 3–2 despite Wildcats’ strong second-half push.

PROVO, Utah — The Arizona women’s soccer team dropped a 3–2 contest to BYU on Thursday evening at South Field, despite mounting a strong second-half comeback led by Jessica Bedolla and Lily Boydstun.

Down 2–0 at the break, the Wildcats (7-8-0, 2-5-0 Big 12) battled back with two quick goals. Bedolla struck first in the 51st minute, scoring her fourth goal of the campaign off a cross from Boydstun, assisted by Narissa Fults. Eight minutes later, Boydstun found the net for her third goal of the season, finishing a setup from Fults and freshman Kyleigh Johnson to tie the game at 2–2.

BYU (8-4-2, 3-3-1) reclaimed the advantage in the 76th minute when Ellie Walbruch scored her third goal of the night, completing her hat trick and securing the Cougars’ victory.

Fults contributed assists on both Wildcat goals, raising her total to three this year. Goalkeeper Olivia Ramey tallied four saves, while Arizona registered 11 total shots, with five finding the target.

The Wildcats return to Tucson this Sunday to host No. 12 Texas Tech on ESPNU, with kickoff set for noon.
