Campbell after Vikings game: “We made every mistake possible to lose.”

Dan Campbell did not mince words following the Detroit Lions’ 27-24 collapse at home against the Minnesota Vikings. “We did everything we needed to do to lose that game,” he said, citing mistakes across all three phases of the game.

He took full ownership of the loss. “When you don’t play well in all three phases, that falls on the head coach. That’s me,” Campbell remarked, adding that he didn’t have the team ready following the bye week.

Campbell pointed to the penalties (10 for 76 yards), the offensive line breakdowns, and the lack of rhythm on offense as major contributors. “We made too many critical errors. Some of our discipline and penalties caught up to us. We just, and there were some things we were out of sync. We never looked comfortable.”

On protection issues, Campbell labelled the team’s performance as “self-induced,” saying they knew what they were facing from Minnesota’s blitz-heavy attack yet failed to adapt.

Looking ahead, Campbell vowed to clean things up and get the team back on track. “I’m going to clean some stuff up… and we will,” he stated.

If you’d like a fuller transcript of his remarks or breakdowns of how specific phases failed, I can pull those together.
