Chicago Bears head coach has reportedly reached out to former left tackle following the veteran’s split from the franchise after the 2025-26 season.

In a March 28 interview with of the Detroit Football Network, detailed a difficult and “uncomfortable” exit from Detroit, citing a lack of communication from head coach and general manager .

“It’s been radio silence. It’s uncomfortable,” Decker said. “It’s awkward. It feels like a high school breakup.”

Decker explained that after refusing to take a pay cut, both sides moved toward a split. While he briefly spoke with , he claims never reached out, leaving him feeling the situation became “a little personal.”

Despite the disappointing ending, Decker emphasized he gave everything to the organization over his 10-year tenure and expected more communication from team leadership.
