Detroit Lions LB Jack Campbell Visits Plastic Surgeon

Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell walked away from Monday night’s 38-30 triumph over the Baltimore Ravens with more than just a victory, he left with stitches, a tale, and a little bit of blood-stained pride.

Campbell explained he caught a cleat to the face during the contest, requiring what he estimated as “8-9 stitches.” Always armed with dry humor, Campbell quipped afterward:

“I feel embarrassed because I’m probably the first Campbell family member to go see a plastic surgeon. I’ll never live that one down with my brothers.”

The vision of Campbell sprinting around with a huge white bandage across his upper lip was hard to ignore. He spat blood, got stitched quickly, and never left the field. In fact, he delivered one of the strongest outings of his young career — a team-best eight tackles and a strip-sack of Lamar Jackson on 4th and goal that flipped momentum toward Detroit.

Head coach Dan Campbell couldn’t hide his respect for the gritty showing, smiling as he told the media:

“Well first of all, did anybody notice Jack’s cut on his mouth? The defense loved it. He’s finishing the game trying to call plays and blood’s spraying out, so they were just fired up.”

Campbell’s resilience has already made him a favorite throughout the locker room. And with Dan Campbell joking about their shared last name, fans can’t help but think, maybe toughness truly runs in the Campbell bloodline.
