Eddie Howe explains stance on injured midfielder: ‘He must be fully fit to feature’

Eddie Howe has shared encouraging updates on two players hurt during the clash with Liverpool. One midfielder could line up against Leeds United, though the manager stressed, “he has to be 100% ready if he’s involved.”

The game on Monday left several players carrying knocks. Joelinton suffered a groin issue following a tussle from a throw-in and was forced to hobble off. Fears of a lengthy layoff arose, but the positive outlook suggests he could return in a matter of weeks.

Lewis Miley and Jacob Ramsey stepped in to cover the midfield roles. Howe has cover available, and he will refuse to gamble on the Italian unless he is convinced the player is fully prepared to perform.

Fabian Schar endured a clash of heads. Usual procedures hinted he might miss the journey to Elland Road, but Howe revealed the defender will, in fact, be ready to take part.

Sven Botman continues to wait for his chance. Persistent knee problems have troubled him over the past two years, with a preseason setback halting his rhythm. The international break offers him a window to rebuild condition.

Lewis Hall had been sidelined after surgery to repair a bone in his foot. Fellow Cobham graduate Tino Livramento has been covering his role at left-back while Hall edges closer to regaining match readiness.

Alexander Isak remains unavailable, while Anthony Gordon is serving suspension following his dismissal against Liverpool. Could this open the door for Will Osula to start after netting the leveller versus the Reds?
