Henderson highlights Palace defender with ‘world’ beater potential

“If I can cover the zone from the goal line out to five yards, that’s my role. If he [Tyrick] manages to add more goals and assists to his play, he’ll be a world beater. I’ve not even seen him strike with his left foot, so I don’t know how the right-foot finish appeared! He’s a great lad and has been putting so much effort into improving that side of his game. It’s fantastic that matches are coming quickly, we just need to keep building momentum.”

Palace manager Glasner continued: “It was a brilliant victory here, capped with an unbelievable match-winner from T [Tyrick] Mitchell on his right foot. The display was strong overall. My single complaint is that we didn’t finish the game when we had the chance to. For around fifteen minutes, the pressure was with them. But ultimately I feel we merited the win, we created more opportunities. In general, it’s an excellent result.”

Hero Mitchell shared his thoughts afterwards, speaking to the BBC post-match. “It was a fine strike,” he admitted. “I can’t really complain. If I have been practicing my shooting, I’ve been sending them wide, so I’m simply glad this one found the net. Remaining unbeaten is all we can really hope for.”

“The coach is demanding. He understands our quality, and we also recognise it. It’s something [the build-up that led to the goal] that we worked on last season and carried into this one. I just wanted to make sure I arrived in position after Daichi [Kamada] drove forward.” Palace’s undefeated streak will face a major challenge next weekend when they host top-of-the-table Liverpool at Selhurst Park.
