Thankfully, T.J. recovered and went on to sign a new five-year deal with the Steelers worth $112 million. Meanwhile, J.J. had a successful farewell season with the Texans, amassing 12.5 sacks – his highest total in several years. He was also inducted into the Texans’ Ring of Honor this season.

While J.J. could have played another season, he chose to retire and spend time with his family. As he put it: “I’m excited for what’s next, but there’s also a sadness… I’m gonna miss it. But at the same time, I’m excited for what’s to come.”
