LA Knight Beats AJ Styles at WWE WrestleMania 40 Following Push vs. Roman Reigns.

In the first WrestleMania bout of his career, LA Knight defeated AJ Styles in a grudge match on Night 2 of WrestleMania 40 on Sunday.

The Megastar was on the verge of being counted out at one point, but he recovered to deliver BFT and seal the win.

The rivalry between Knight and Styles dates back to the fall when the latter was originally slated to team with John Cena in a tag team contest against Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso at Fastlane.

Knight replaced Styles after he was injured in an attack by the Bloodline members, and he got the winning pinfall for his team at Fastlane.

That led to a feud with Roman Reigns over the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, and The Megastar was granted a title match at Crown Jewel in November.

The animosity between Styles and Knight began last fall when Styles was first scheduled to compete as a tag team alongside John Cena at Fastlane against Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso. After Styles was hurt in an attack by the members of Bloodline, Knight took Styles’ position. At Fastlane, Knight secured the victory for his side.

Following a rivalry between them for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Roman Reigns, The Megastar was given the opportunity to defend the championship at Crown Jewel in November. Even though Knight was already extremely well-liked by the WWE Universe, a program with the best in the business helped him reach even greater heights, and he shown in his matches against The Tribal Chief that he belonged at the top of the card.

At Crown Jewel, The Bloodline intervened and cost the Megastar the match, even though he was dangerously near to defeating Reigns for the title. After Crown Jewel, Knight persisted in his quest for the title, but he wasn’t the only one. Styles and Randy Orton both made a comeback after missing a combined total of 18 months due to injuries. Unexpectedly, Styles attacked Knight, seemingly in retaliation, as The Megastar benefited greatly from his absence.
