“Strongly Prefers” that the Raiders not trade their $140 million star to anybody else.
It seems as though the Las Vegas Raiders will still select a quarterback in the draft this year. While both Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell have shown they are viable starters, neither is a standout at the position.
The group is well-prepared for a new quarterback. For a rookie, having a wide receiver with star potential like Davante Adams usually makes things simpler. That’s really a major factor in the Raiders’ decision to pass on dealing Adams. Jason La Canfora of The Washington Post reports that owner Mark Davis hopes to have the talented wide receiver on the squad as a possible rookie.
In a piece published on April 15, La Canfora stated, “Las Vegas seems intent on getting its quarterback of the future in this draft.” “In order to force their way into the top three or four choices for Jayden Daniels, do the Raiders need additional draft stock? According to the executives I spoke with, owner Mark Davis would much rather have Adams available for the next quarterback. However, given that many people first doubted Adams would leave Green Bay, it’s at least worthwhile to keep an eye on it.
Davis is typically hands-off when it comes to football operations but he does get the final say on any moves. If general manager Tom Telesco wanted to trade Adams, there’s a chance Davis would veto it.
Davante Adams Doesn’t Want to Leave
Davante Adams has been involved in trade rumors dating back to last year. However, he’s never expressed interest in leaving. In fact, he recently made it clear that he has no desire to leave.
“If I wanted to be gone, I’d be gone by now,” Adams said, per an April 15 column from The Athletic. “This is where I want to be.”
