Lamb’s new deal expected to make him highest-paid WR in NFL

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is no stranger to the process of negotiating a new contract extension. However, for star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, this offseason marks his first experience with contract negotiations. As Lamb remains absent from OTAs due to the contract dispute, it’s clear that whenever his new deal comes through, it’s going to be a substantial one.

Lamb has undeniably proven himself as one of the NFL’s best wide receivers over the past two years, showcasing remarkable consistency since his rookie season in 2020. While Prescott may feel the absence of his top target during OTAs, he expressed his unwavering support for Lamb when speaking with reporters.

Prescott emphasized, “That’s my guy. Not many people out there more swaggier, cooler, better player than that guy. So, obviously, you’re gonna miss him, miss having him around. But I’ve been in this situation. It’s business, business is business. He’s got my support, and I know the locker room’s support. That’s part of it. Hopefully, he’ll get all his and everything he deserves and is worth.”

Lamb’s performance on the field speaks for itself. In the previous season, he caught an impressive 135 passes for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. Additionally, Lamb has earned Pro Bowl honors for three consecutive seasons and was a strong contender for the AP Offensive Player of the Year Award last year.
