Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks’ NBA Playoff series vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder got off to a rocky start with a 117-95 defeat. Doncic, in particular, did not play like the NBA superstar we’ve witnessed over the past few seasons.
Doncic finished the night with 19 points on 6-of-19 shooting. He made just one of his eight three-point attempts. Something was clearly wrong with the 25-year-old superstar, who’s been spotted grabbing his knee multiple times throughout the postseason.
After the game, a reporter asked Doncic directly about his poor shooting performance. However, that was the last thing the Mavericks star wanted to talk about.
“Who cares, we lost, man,” Doncic said.
Instead of focusing on his individual performance, Doncic addressed the team as a whole, acknowledging Dallas has to play better in Game 2.
“We just gotta move onto the next one. I gotta be better, we gotta be better,” he added.
Luka Doncic shared a blunt message after the Mavericks’ Game 1 loss to the Thunder.

The Thunder have been doing this to teams and players all season long; they’ve just flown under the radar the whole year. The reality is the Mavericks are in for a long series if Doncic is not himself.
Doncic’s superstar teammate, Kyrie Irving, isn’t giving up just yet, though. The veteran guard sent a strong message out on X after the Mavs’ Game 2 loss.
