For many members of the Dallas Cowboys, the upcoming season is all or nothing. Mike McCarthy has only a 1-3 postseason record after joining

the organization, and he has failed to get the team past the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs.

Jerry Jones, the owner of the Cowboys, refused to offer McCarthy a contract extension this offseason; if he doesn’t lead Dallas on a lengthy postseason run, McCarthy will find employment elsewhere the following season.

The Cowboys are attempting to concentrate on winning the Super Bowl for the first time since the 1995 campaign, but there are still some significant business issues to resolve.

Quarterback Dak Prescott has a chance to become the highest paid player in the NFL and is due for a contract extension. CeeDee Lamb, a wide receiver, is also eligible for a contract extension.

With his four-year, $140 million contract extension with the Minnesota Vikings, Justin Jefferson has reset the wide receiver market. Some think the Cowboys would try to trade Lamb in order to save money, given that Dallas must pay Prescott. NFL Analyst Suggests CeeDee Lamb Trade to the Green Bay Packers for the Dallas Cowboy

As many fans are aware, Lamb isn’t currently in attendance at Dallas’ required minicamp since he needs to finish his new contract as soon as possible. He is probably attempting to obtain a same amount, if not greater, as Jefferson did in his contract.

Dallas may consider trading Lamb if the team decides not to pay him and if he declines to play without a new contract.The Green Bay Packers are one of the teams that Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report advises the Cowboys trade Lamb to:

There are plenty of decent, if not outstanding or well-established, receivers on the Green Bay Packers roster. However, since the team has the depth to support that trade, they may opt to take a risk with Lamb and give up two of them in what will undoubtedly be a historic season for Jordan Love and company.

They are now, in essence, top-heavy. Here, we’re suggesting that Dallas sign one of the two gifted but usually unimpressive outside players and sign Jayden Reed as their primary slot player to more directly replace Lamb.

All are now inexpensive, and it would be irresponsible for the Cowboys to pass them up in anticipation of such an unusual-looking season, as well as some Day 2 draft money.

This trade would give the Cowboys two talented young wide receivers with years remaining on their rookie contracts, assuming Lamb and the team are unable to reach a mutual understanding.

Additionally, that second-round pick would be a highly alluring addition to the trade. That does not appear to be the kind of transaction the Packers would make, though. No CeeDee Lamb Trade Will Involve The Green Bay Packers

This trade would be a complete steal for Dallas, particularly if Christian Watson has successfully resolved his hamstring problems and stays healthy the entire season. He has two seasons left on his rookie contract (this season and the following one), and he has the makings of a true wide receiver.

Last season, Jayden Reed led Green Bay in receiving yards and tied for the club lead in touchdowns. He also established a record for the most receptions by a rookie for the Packers. However, as previously stated, they are both bound by their rookie contracts.

It’s unlikely that Green Bay will be able to sign a wide receiver who wants to be among the highest paid players in the league because they also have to extend the deal of their quarterback, Jordan Love. He won’t play for Green Bay either if he won’t play for Dallas in the absence of a new contract.
