Dak [Prescott] Ain’t No Priority”: Jerry Jones’ Cowboys Shamed Over Contract Extension Failure While Ignoring CeeDee Lamb and Micah
Dak Prescott has kept his head down for a while and has been attending the mandatory minicamp. It’s his last year with the Dallas Cowboys and questions about his contract extension are looming about the team. But it’s no news that the Cowboys have their hands full with CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons also demanding an extension.
The dude that’s not in the building is CeeDee Lamb, who is a top five wide receiver that just seen Justin Jefferson break the bank, and ‘my numbers are similar to him.’ If Dak Prescott does not have CeeDee Lamb out there, they both might not get paid,” said Jones as everyone in the room started cracking up. But about two months ago or so, Jerry Jones was busy doing pressers and in one of them he exclaimed, “We want Dak and that’s that.” However, his claims haven’t come to fruition.
Just like Prescott and Lamb, Micah Parsons is also at the end of his rookie deal with the Cowboys. Parsons is a prolific linebacker and has played a pivotal role in Cowboys defense having 36 solo tackles and 14 sacks last season. Initially, he was also boycotting the OTAs because he needed a bump in salary. But he came back, and the Cowboys picked Parosns’ fifth year option. But there’s a catch. He will play out his fifth year as a DE and not a linebacker as he’s offered a salary of $21.3 million for the next season, helping the Cowboys save $3 million had Parsons played as a linebacker.
There are plenty of Dak Prescott naysayers because of his lack of playoff success.
However, he led the league with 36 passing touchdowns in the last season. He also amassed a respectable 4,516 yards last season. However, there’s a reason why James Jones’ comments about the wideout deserve a second look.
CeeDee Lamb might get precedence over Dak Prescott
