NFL Great Gives Major Praise To Angel Reese After Dominant Chicago Sky Win Against Caitlin Clark And Indiana Fever

Angel Reese is taking the spotlight from Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark, who previously received the majority of attention. Shannon Sharpe, an NFL icon and sports broadcaster, has given flowers to the Chicago Sky star.

Reese had an outstanding collegiate career, first at the University of Maryland and later at Louisiana State University. Reese, a highly ranked recruit, enrolled at Maryland in 2020, but her freshman season was cut short by a fractured right foot.

She recovered as a sophomore, winning third-team All-American accolades from the Associated Press.

The forward then transferred to LSU for her junior season in 2022-23. She had an outstanding season, being selected a unanimous first-team All-American and helping the Tigers to their first NCAA championship. Reese was voted the NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player after setting single-season SEC records for double-doubles and rebounds.

 

As a senior in 2023-24, Reese was selected SEC Player of the Year and second-team All-American. She finished her undergraduate career with multiple honors, including two first-team All-American and SEC All-Defensive Team selections.Reese’s outstanding college performance led to her being taken seventh overall by the Chicago Sky in the 2024 WNBA draft. She won a silver medal with the United States national team in the 2023 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup.
