EXCLUSIVE: BMW confirms “we have an existing contract for 2025” with Toprak.

BMW responds to rumours tying Toprak Razgatlioglu with MotoGP. BMW said that Toprak Razgatlioglu has signed a contract to continue with them in WorldSBK next season. Razgatlioglu’s potential switch to MotoGP has reignited speculation, with Honda reportedly interested.

Signing Razgatlioglu is a no-brainer for Honda, who are experiencing one of their worst seasons in MotoGP history. Joan Mir appears to be staying with Honda, which may have an impact on Razgatlioglu’s decision to join the Japanese brand; nonetheless, speculation has not stopped. Razgatlioglu, who now leads the WorldSBK title, has been nothing short of remarkable in his debut season with BMW.

A superb hat-trick on Ducati’s home turf in Misano gave him a 21-point lead over Nicolo Bulega, with reigning world champion Alvaro Bautista trailing three points behind. Razgatlioglu’s greatest chance to join MotoGP may be now, as future options fade.

However, BMW confirmed that the Turkish superstar is under contract with them till the end of next season. BMW told Crash.net that they are pleased with Toprak’s recent WorldSBK results. “We have an existing contract for this and next season and will not participate in further speculation.”

A murky area to consider is that WorldSBK riders often have the option of leaving their current contract for MotoGP, particularly if it is a factory ride. However, BMW did not confirm whether this applies to Razgatlioglu.
