Spain’s manager discloses his Euro 2024 favourites ahead of Germany’s quarterfinal

Spain’s head coach, Luis de la Fuente, feels his team could be regarded favourites for Euro 2024 after defeating Georgia in their last-16 match on Sunday evening. Georgia grabbed an unexpected lead after Robin Le Normand’s own goal, but Spain responded emphatically, with Rodri equalising before halftime, and second-half goals from Fabian Ruiz, Nico Williams, and Dani Olmo securing a 4-1 victory.

Spain’s quarter-final match against tournament hosts Germany is scheduled on July 5 at 5pm. They will face either Portugal, Slovenia, France, or Belgium in the semi-finals on July 9. La Roja is the only side in the competition to have won all of their games thus far, and they have put on several outstanding performances. De la Fuente is certain that he is in charge of the finest team left in Euro 2024. ‘The match is 8-1 or 9-1,’ De la Fuente stated following Spain’s victory over Georgia.

‘The goal is to win another match, especially considering that we will be playing against Germany. ‘With all due respect to the other players, our squad and players are the finest in the world. That doesn’t mean we’re certain to win, but we’ll fight for it. ‘Every team has weaknesses. We each have our own set of tools and shortcomings.

We won’t know if it’s good or negative. “All the teams are good.” Rodri spoke. ‘We’ll see. Germany is likely to be strong at home. We’re not afraid. ‘If we want to advance, we’ll have to play an excellent game. We’re going to try everything we have. “Against Germany, the game will be very different from Georgia.”
