Detroit Lions

Following a career-high performance, Lions WR Jameson Williams has confidently forecasted what’s next for him.

For Williams, the recent success has been a long time coming.

After missing most of his rookie season due to a torn ACL and serving a four-game suspension in his second year for violating the league’s gambling rules, Williams faced numerous challenges. Although he started slowly in 2023, he made a strong comeback towards the end of the season, scoring two touchdowns in the NFC Championship game.

Head coach Dan Campbell had previously praised Williams’ progress during the offseason, naming him the team’s most improved player in May.

Following the Lions’ overtime victory on Sunday, Campbell stated that Williams met the expectations he had set for the third-year receiver.“I expected him to perform well and improve, and he delivered,” Campbell said.

“It was a significant game for him to step up, and even though he didn’t play his best, he showed up.

”Campbell acknowledged that while Williams still has areas to refine, he is on the right path and continues to put in the effort required for further improvement. “There’s a lot still to work on, but his progress is evident.

He’s driven, continually improving, and making plays. As long as he keeps advancing, he’ll only get better.

I’m proud of his current progress, but there’s still much more potential for growth.”
