Dallas cowboys

A Cowboys fan sent a threatening airdrop to everyone at the stadium during the Saints’ rout.

In the 2023 NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys boasted a flawless home record until they were unexpectedly defeated by the New Orleans Saints, who secured a dominant 44-19 victory just two weeks into the new season. Despite a strong start with a win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 1, the Cowboys were stunned by the Saints, a team many experts had predicted would finish near the bottom of the conference.

Led by quarterback Derek Carr, who had struggled for consistency in his first season with the Saints, New Orleans’ offense was nearly unstoppable. The Cowboys’ defense struggled to counteract the Saints’ offensive prowess, which saw New Orleans score on their first six drives.

This performance gave the Saints a commanding 41-19 lead by halftime, marking one of the highest first-half point totals allowed in Cowboys’ history.

Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak’s run scheme disrupted the Cowboys’ defense, echoing the issues faced in their NFC Wild Card playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers earlier in the year.

New Orleans became only the fifth team in the 21st century to score on their first six drives, joining a select group including the 2007 Patriots and the 2021 Bills.

The Cowboys’ defense, under new coordinator Mike Zimmer, appeared overwhelmed and poorly prepared.

With the game effectively decided by halftime, Dak Prescott struggled as the offense was forced into a difficult position early on. An interception late in the second quarter exacerbated the situation, leading to a Saints touchdown that sealed their victory.

Frustration among Dallas fans was palpable, with many taking to social media to demand changes, including firing head coach Mike McCarthy.

The situation escalated when a fan reportedly airdropped a threatening message to others at the stadium. The Cowboys must regroup quickly, as they face a challenging matchup against the Baltimore Ravens with their season already at 0-2.
