Another significant player, Jordan Phillips, heads to injured reserve.

The Dallas Cowboys are facing ongoing challenges with their defensive line.

Following the loss of Sam Williams due to a torn ACL, Durrell Johnson has also been waived due to injury. Now, the team is placing Jordan Phillips on injured reserve.

As reported by The Athletic’s Jon Machota, Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy confirmed that defensive tackle Jordan Phillips, who has a wrist injury, will be sidelined for at least four games.

To address the void left by Phillips, the Cowboys have signed defensive tackle Carlos Watkins, who will join practice today.

Phillips initially signed with the New York Giants in April 2024 before being traded to the Cowboys for a sixth-round pick in August.

The team had hoped he would make a significant impact on the defensive line, but he will now miss the upcoming four games while recovering from his wrist injury.Originally drafted by the Miami Dolphins as the 52nd overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft from Oklahoma, Phillips played for the Dolphins from 2015 to 2018 before being waived in October 2018.

He was promptly claimed by the Buffalo Bills.

Phillips spent the 2018 and 2019 seasons with the Bills and subsequently signed a three-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals in 2020.

After two seasons in Arizona, he was released in 2022 and returned to the Bills for the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

Throughout his career, Phillips has recorded 24 sacks, 182 tackles, and one interception.

Carlos Watkins was selected by the Houston Texans in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He played for the Texans for the first four seasons of his career and then spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons with the Cowboys.
