Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell is already one of the most accomplished coaches in the franchise’s nearly century-long history.

However, a young fan’s actions following the team’s 34-31 defeat to the San Francisco 49ers in January led to serious consequences for Campbell and his family.

The fan doxxed Campbell, prompting the family to sell their home and relocate.

According to Lyle Dungy from the NFL’s Security Department, a classmate of Campbell’s daughter shared the family’s address on Snapchat, accompanied by a derogatory comment about the coach’s decision-making.

This classmate, who is a year younger than Campbell’s daughter and attends a prestigious private school, reportedly skipped school the day after the loss. Investigators later visited his home for questioning.

The Detroit News reported that investigators spoke with the boy’s mother, who cooperated fully.

.She acknowledged the situation, mentioning that Mrs. Campbell had reached out to her regarding her son’s post.

The mother stated that her son had only shared the post briefly and believed it contained a fake address, quickly removing it after reconsideration.

When questioned, the student claimed that the address was already available on Snapchat and that he merely copied it to share.

He mentioned seeing a post encouraging fans to egg Campbell’s house. Although the Campbells did not pursue legal action, they felt compelled to move due to concerns for their safety.

This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of doxxing, not just for NFL coaches but for anyone.
