K.J. Henry Joins Dallas Cowboys from Bengals Practice Squad

The Dallas Cowboys have signed defensive end K.J. Henry from the Cincinnati Bengals’ practice squad on Tuesday, following the placement of DeMarcus Lawrence on injured reserve.

Lawrence suffered a Lisfranc injury to his right foot during the third quarter of last Thursday’s 20-15 victory over the New York Giants. The four-time Pro Bowler is not anticipated to undergo surgery but will require four to eight weeks for recovery.

At 32, Lawrence has recorded three sacks and 14 tackles across 14 starts this season. Since being drafted by Dallas in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft, he has accumulated 61.5 sacks, 21 forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries, and two interceptions in 141 games (123 starts).

Henry, 25, was a fifth-round selection by Washington in 2023 and posted 1.5 sacks and 19 tackles in 10 games (three starts) during his rookie year.

After being waived by Washington on August 27, Henry signed with the Bengals, where he has logged a total of 11 defensive snaps and seven special teams snaps in two games this season.

In addition to Lawrence’s absence, the Cowboys (2-2) are gearing up for a Sunday night matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1) without star pass-rusher Micah Parsons, who is sidelined due to a left high-ankle sprain.
