Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today the signing of DL Alim McNeill to a contract extension that runs through the 2028 season. Specific terms of the contract were not disclosed.
McNeill was drafted in the third round (72nd overall) by the Lions in 2021 from North Carolina State. This season, he has played in five games (all starts), recording eight total tackles (five solo), three tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks (19 yards), and one pass defense.
Over his career, McNeill has started 41 of 52 games with the Lions, accumulating 120 total tackles (54 solo), 18 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks (78 yards), three pass defenses, and one forced fumble.
