Young Patients at Children’s Hospital Show Support for Injured Lions Star Aidan Hutchinson in Viral Clip

Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson suffered a broken leg during the game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, cutting his season short as the team pursues a Super Bowl title.

He sustained fractures to both his fibula and tibia, a serious injury expected to require four to six months for recovery, according to Lions head coach Dan Campbell.

“Surgery went well,” Campbell stated. “It’s tough to lose someone like him, both as a player and as a person.”

He also expressed optimism, noting he would “never count Hutch out” for a possible return ahead of the projected timeline.

Hutchinson is well-regarded not only for his performance on the field but also for his community involvement. He has a tradition of visiting young patients at C.S.

Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, where many children have become devoted fans of the former Michigan Wolverines star and All-American.

On Tuesday, the hospital shared a heartfelt tribute to Hutchinson, featuring messages written by patients on water jugs in honor of the beloved player.

One child expressed their support, saying, “I love you, Aidan,” while holding a personalized jug marked with a message.

Another child added, “We love you, Hutch, feel better.”

In the video, an older patient mentioned that Hutchinson had supported him during his time in the hospital and expressed his desire to reciprocate that support.

“I’m just hoping you have a speedy recovery…I hope everything goes well,” the patient remarked.

This touching video has garnered nearly 200,000 views as of early Wednesday morning on X.
