Jerry Jones’ meltdown is viewed by Chase Daniel as a calculated move in the Cowboys’ strategy.

This past week was challenging for Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

Following a heavy defeat against the Detroit Lions on his 82nd birthday, Jones made headlines by seemingly threatening to fire radio hosts who questioned his offseason choices.

However, former NFL player Chase Daniel believes this radio incident might have been a strategic move by Jones.

While many interpreted Jones’ comments as an expression of frustration with his team, Daniel argues that Jones was actually taking proactive steps to support his players after a significant loss. “Jerry is a businessman, and he knows exactly what he’s doing,” Daniel stated on the ‘Scoop City’ podcast with Dianna Russini.

He noted that with a 3-3 record and coming off a humiliating defeat, the Cowboys needed a distraction.

“You have a terrible defense, Dak is turning the ball over, and the coach is under scrutiny,” he added.

Daniel suggested that Jones aimed to deflect attention from his players by saying, “Bring it on me.”

This, he believes, effectively alleviated some of the pressure on quarterback Dak Prescott and head coach Mike McCarthy, allowing Jones to shoulder the blame.

“He’s a genius businessman, and now all the talk is about Jerry Jones,” Daniel remarked.

The Cowboys are currently struggling, having suffered a humiliating home loss to the Lions, marking one of their worst defeats since Jones took ownership in the late 1980s.

They entered their Week 6 game against Detroit with hopes of a three-game winning streak after a comeback win against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Instead, they faced the largest home loss since AT&T Stadium opened and continued their winless streak at home.

Now at 3-3, the Cowboys have a bye week before facing the San Francisco 49ers in a primetime matchup.

The season began positively with a win over the Cleveland Browns, who appeared to be strong contenders at the time.

However, the Cowboys, who had an impressive home record last season, have since suffered significant defeats, including a 25-point loss to the New Orleans Saints.

This marks the start of a troubling trend, as the Cowboys have lost their last four home games, including a Wild Card defeat to the Green Bay Packers in January.

Their next opportunity to break this home losing streak will come on November 10 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
