Learn how you can get the opportunity to win a $7,500 vintage Minimoog with Peter Gabriel’s signature.
Proceeds from the Bob Moog Foundation’s raffle will benefit its elementary education initiative, Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool.
Each year, the Bob Moog Foundation conducts a fundraising raffle to generate funds for preserving Bob Moog’s legacy via the Bob Moog Foundation Archives and Asheville’s Moogseum.
In past years, prizes have included synthesizers signed by legends like Stevie Wonder, Geddy Lee, and Bob Moog himself. This year, you could win a vintage Minimoog Model D signed by Peter Gabriel.
The synthesizer, serial number 8538, was manufactured in the Moog Music factory in Williamsville during the ’70s. Valued at $7,500, it has been restored by Kent Spong Restorations, known for their work with artists like Hans Zimmer and Vangelis. Gabriel signed it with the message: “To the Bob Moog Foundation. Hello. Love, Peter Gabriel, 04-09-2024.”
Raffle tickets are $25 each, and proceeds will support various projects, including the educational program Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool, which teaches second graders the physics of sound through acoustic and electronic instruments. Purchasing a raffle ticket will also help support the Moogseum, which has recently faced challenges due to Hurricane Helene.
“The Bob Moog Foundation gives children and adults the chance to explore sound science through their educational initiatives,” Gabriel stated. “I am delighted to support their mission by signing this iconic synthesizer.”
