Jared Goff needs just one more standout performance to make history.

Jared Goff is on the brink of making history with just one more outstanding performance.

Despite completing a perfect 18-for-18 passing in Week 4 against the Seattle Seahawks, Goff did not achieve a perfect passer rating of 158.3, finishing with a rating of 155.8 because he didn’t meet all the criteria for that score.

In Week 6, Goff had an impressive outing against the Dallas Cowboys, completing 18 of 25 passes for 315 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions, resulting in a passer rating of 153.7.

He narrowly missed the completion percentage needed (77.25 percent) to achieve a perfect rating in that game.

Over his last three games, including his performance against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 3, Goff boasts a passer rating of 146.6.

According to the Lions’ PR team, he is the only quarterback since the AFL/NFL merger in 1970 to record a completion percentage of over 80 and a passer rating above 140 over any three-game stretch with at least 50 attempts.

Achieving back-to-back games with a passer rating over 150 is a rare accomplishment.

Historically, only three quarterbacks have achieved three consecutive games with a passer rating of 140 or higher: Roger Staubach in 1971, Kurt Warner in 1999, and Aaron Rodgers in 2011.

Goff has the chance to become the first quarterback to achieve three straight games with a rating of 150 or better if he can perform well against the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday.

However, this will not be an easy challenge. The Vikings have allowed the third-most passing yards per game (263.0) but currently have the lowest passer rating allowed in the league at 70.3.

Defensive coordinator Brian Flores poses significant challenges for opposing quarterbacks with his complex blitz schemes.

Despite this, Goff has historically performed well against blitzes and has shown effectiveness this season as well, which could set the stage for another remarkable game.

If Goff can excel once again, he will not only enhance his own legacy but also set a benchmark that may be difficult for future quarterbacks to achieve.

The upcoming game is crucial for him to reach this milestone.
