Former Alabama safety Brian Branch is establishing himself as an elite All-Pro defender in his second NFL season, playing a crucial role in the Detroit Lions’ defense. Recently, he delivered his best two-game performance, recording three interceptions and defending four passes in victories over the Vikings and Cowboys.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell praised him on Tuesday, stating, “By the time it’s all over, you’ll look back and say that guy was a game changer. What’s remarkable is how much room he still has to improve. He’s special.”

Having turned 23 on Tuesday, Branch expressed to reporters that he’s in one of the best rhythms of his career following Sunday’s win. “I finally feel like I’m playing like I did in high school,” he remarked. According to PFF, he is the NFL’s highest-graded safety and has excelled in multiple roles for Detroit, including free safety, box safety, and slot.
