stating, “Troy’s credible, boy. And he should be.
He’s deeply invested in the Cowboys and approaches his critiques professionally and fairly.”

He mentioned discussions with head coach Mike McCarthy about how players need to work on pushing through physical contact when facing tight coverage, indicating that this is just one of several areas needing improvement.
While Jerry’s analysis is mostly reasonable, it also highlights broader issues beyond the receivers’ struggles to create space.
Critics argue that McCarthy’s offense has failed to devise effective plays throughout the first half of the season.
After finishing last season as the highest-scoring team in the league, the Cowboys have found it challenging to score even 20 points in a game this year.
This drop can be attributed partly to a decline in the running game, but primarily to a passing offense that struggles to find open targets.
McCarthy’s scheme has appeared stagnant, and while improvements from the offensive players could help, critics note that his failure to adjust to opposing defenses has compounded these issues.
As Jones pointed out, both analytics and game footage reveal the harsh reality of the situation.
It’s evident that McCarthy needs to get creative with the passing offense, or the team will continue to face difficulties in moving the ball effectively.
Although many view McCarthy as a “lame duck” coach, Jones has made it clear that McCarthy will remain in his position.
