Will Brandon Aubrey Be Available for the 49ers Game? Cowboys’ Kicking Arrangements for Jury Duty

Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl kicker Brandon Aubrey is currently serving on jury duty for a felony case, raising concerns about his availability for the Week 8 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.

Aubrey made an unexpected appearance on the team’s injury report Wednesday afternoon due to missing practice.

However, Cowboys fans quickly found out there was no reason for alarm.

The reason for his absence was his summons for jury duty; he has been selected as a member of a 12-person jury for a felony assault trial in Tarrant County, as reported by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

With Aubrey’s jury duty causing him to miss practice, questions arose about whether he would be ready to play on Sunday night against the 49ers.

Fortunately, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has assured fans that Aubrey will be available for the game. A plan is already in place to ensure he is prepared for Sunday’s matchup.

According to Todd Archer of ESPN.com, McCarthy stated that Aubrey would be able to complete his kicking duties after his jury service each day.

He is expected to participate in the game, and if the jury case extends into next week, the Cowboys’ charter will return early Monday morning.

Aubrey has been a standout player for the team, serving as one of their most reliable offensive assets throughout the first six games of the season.

The 29-year-old kicker has made 17 out of 19 attempts this year and holds the NFL record for hitting at least one kick of 50 yards or more in eight consecutive games.

The kickoff between the Cowboys and 49ers is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC, with live streaming available on Peacock.
