Kalif Raymond made history with his standout performance during the Lions’ Week 8 clash with the Titans.
In Week 8, the Detroit Lions delivered a commanding victory over the Tennessee Titans at Ford Field, with wide receiver and return specialist Kalif Raymond making a significant impact.
Facing his former team, Raymond achieved a remarkable feat by scoring both a receiving and a punt return touchdown in the same game, a first in franchise history. Both touchdowns occurred in the third quarter, with the Lions already leading significantly.
Raymond electrified the crowd with a 90-yard punt return touchdown, exploiting what had been the NFL’s worst special teams unit up to that point.
At that time, he became the sixth Lions player to find the end zone. Just two series later, Raymond caught a seven-yard pass from quarterback Jared Goff, extending the lead to 49-14 with no Titans defender in sight.
This performance was particularly meaningful for Raymond, as he played against the Titans, where he spent two seasons and famously scored a long touchdown in the 2019 playoffs against the Baltimore Ravens.
Joining the Lions in 2021, Raymond is now in his fourth season with the team and has been a valuable contributor as a depth receiver and an effective returner, as showcased in Sunday’s game.
