Pistons’ Isaiah Stewart channeled Dan Campbell’s fiery spirit, dropping expletives at halftime of Sixers game.

The Detroit Pistons aided offseason acquisition Tobias Harris in getting back at dismissive Philadelphia 76ers fans on Wednesday night, earning their first win of the season on the road against their Embiid-less opponents.

Harris brushed off the boos from his former team’s supporters, scoring 18 points and grabbing 14 rebounds in a 105-95 Pistons victory. The win improved JB Bickerstaff’s squad to a 1-4 record.

Detroit’s front line played a crucial role in the 49-37 rebounding advantage over the Keystone State team, with Isaiah Stewart securing 11 boards in 34 minutes.

Known for his reputation as one of Detroit’s enforcers, evidenced by past confrontations with Draymond Green, LeBron James, and others, Stewart tried to channel the spirit of the hometown Lions with his strong comments during halftime in Philadelphia.

“Energy, defense, being physical,” Stewart told host Johnny Kane when asked about the key to the team’s performance against the Sixers.

“Goddamn grit,” he added, referencing the Detroit Lions’ ‘Grit’ motto with a bold twist.

“That’s what we doing right now.” Pistons announcer Greg Kelser encouraged him, saying, “Go ahead, go ahead,” as the interview went on.

Stewart also expressed enthusiasm for his matchup against Andre Drummond, a former Pistons center, and Guerschon Yabusele, who filled in for Embiid. “I love the physicality, we down there battling,” Stewart said.

“It’s a grown man game tonight and I love it.”

Detroit’s road trip along the East Coast continues on Friday at Madison Square Garden, where they will face coach Tom Thibodeau’s New York Knicks, who improved to 2-2 after a significant road win over Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro, and the Miami Heat.
