Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons are on a winning streak.
After a 31-26 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 8, they returned home and defeated the Dallas Cowboys 27-21.
Unfortunately, Cousins’ family couldn’t make it to the game on time due to heavy traffic en route to Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Julie Cousins documented their experience on Instagram, mentioning they left home two hours prior and would miss kickoff.
She also noted this was the second time during the 2024 NFL season that they had missed the start of a Falcons game.
In another post, she encouraged her husband with a selfie, saying, “Good luck babe! We’ll be watching on the phone until the second quarter!”
Once they finally reached the parking area, Julie shared that it took them three hours to arrive at the stadium.
Despite the delays, the effort proved worthwhile as they got to witness Kirk excel on the field against the Cowboys.
The 36-year-old quarterback had an impressive performance, throwing for 222 yards and three touchdowns without any interceptions, completing 19 of 24 passes.
Although he fumbled twice (losing one), his overall showing was strong, further solidifying his reputation as a four-time NFL Pro Bowler.
Julie and the kids ultimately enjoyed the game, celebrating Kirk’s success despite the challenges they faced getting there.
The experience underscored both the excitement of attending live sports and the dedication required to support a professional athlete in the family.
