One Detroit Lions fan fully embraced the Halloween spirit while attending his team’s Sunday game against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in Wisconsin.
The fan, David Bodine, generated buzz on social media after appearing on the FOX broadcast. His moment came when the Lions faced 4th-and-1 at Green Bay’s 15-yard line about five minutes into the second half. Lions running back Jahymr Gibbs easily rushed through for a touchdown, extending the lead to 24-3.
Following the touchdown, FOX’s camera captured Bodine, who was sporting a playful cheese grater hat. Amidst a crowd of Packers fans in their traditional cheesehead hats, Bodine stood out as a clear rival.
Bodine quickly learned of his viral fame, sharing his identity on X shortly after the game.
“Apparently I’m making the rounds on this app, in case anyone is wondering who the Lions fan in the cheese grater is…,” Bodine wrote in his X post.
The Lions secured an early lead against the Packers, but that didn’t shield them from controversy. Lions safety Brian Branch was ejected in the first half for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Packers wide receiver Bo Melton.
Detroit’s victory over the Packers had significant consequences for the NFC North standings. Both teams entered Week 9 on impressive win streaks, but only one could extend theirs.
Detroit improved to 7-1, while Green Bay dropped to 6-3 following Sunday’s game.
