Aditi Kinkhabwala Praises Arthur Smith as ‘The Perfect Fit’ for Steelers’ Vision

Pittsburgh Steelers fans entered the 2024 season with hopes of a more dynamic offense, especially after last year’s underwhelming performance. With new additions to the offensive lineup and Arthur Smith stepping in as the offensive coordinator, there was a strong sense of potential from the start. Now, halfway through the season, that potential is coming to life as the Steelers find themselves in a close battle with the Baltimore Ravens at the top of the AFC North.

Much of Pittsburgh’s improvement on offense can be credited to fresh faces, from young offensive linemen to two new quarterbacks. But perhaps the most impactful addition hasn’t been on the field at all. CBS sports analyst Aditi Kinkhabwala recently emphasized on *Empty The Notebook* that Smith’s role as offensive coordinator may be the Steelers’ best offseason move.

“All offseason, I kept saying that the biggest addition to this Steelers offense wasn’t necessarily the young linemen or even the quarterback—it’s Arthur Smith,” Kinkhabwala explained. “He’s a guy who truly understands how to run an offense. Arthur Smith is the perfect man for what Art Rooney, the Steelers, and Mike Tomlin envision.”

Smith’s influence is already evident, bringing a much-needed balance to a team that’s long relied on its defense to carry the load. For years, the Steelers defense kept the team in games despite a struggling offense, but this season, they’re performing well on both sides of the ball.

Smith’s road hasn’t been entirely smooth, though. He lost starting quarterback Russell Wilson to a calf injury before the season even began. Nevertheless, Smith adapted, guiding the offense with Justin Fields leading the way. When Wilson returned, Head Coach Mike Tomlin opted for the veteran, and Smith smoothly integrated him back without missing a beat. Under Smith’s guidance, the offense is showing signs of growth and adaptability.

While there’s still work to be done—especially with a tough schedule ahead—Smith’s impact on the team is undeniable. For now, he appears to be a fantastic addition to the Steelers’ coaching staff, and fans are hopeful that his leadership will help carry the offense’s momentum into a potential playoff run.
