“Miss Terry and I truly loved our time there,” Saban reflected. “Looking back, maybe it wasn’t the best decision to leave for pro football. The only way we would’ve returned to college was for Alabama, and that’s such a special rivalry. LSU and Alabama have one of the greatest rivalries in football.”
During his five years at LSU, Saban achieved a 48-16 record. Afterward, he moved to the NFL, where he coached the Dolphins to a 15-17 record over two seasons before heading to Alabama.
