The Detroit Lions are dominating this season, improving to 9-1 after a dominant 52-6 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars at Ford Field on Sunday.
This victory further cements their position as one of the top teams in the NFL as they continue their strong run through the 2024 season.
After the game, Lions cornerback Carlton Davis had a bold message for anyone who might doubt the team’s success moving forward.
Speaking with 97.1 The Ticket radio host Jeff Riger on X, Davis made it clear that anyone unhappy with the Lions’ performance should step up their game.
“If people have a problem with what we’re doing or complaining about it then they can just come out here and play better football,” Davis stated, confident in the team’s ability to maintain their dominance.
Davis also shared his motivation after being traded from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the Lions in March 2024.
Reflecting on his performance in the previous season, he admitted that he felt a need to regain respect, particularly after a less-than-ideal showing against the Houston Texans. “For me, it’s all about respect,” Davis explained.
“I want to earn the respect of every team I face, and last year, I didn’t do that.”
He pointed to the Texans’ success against him as added fuel for his desire to prove himself, making it clear that he was seeking a personal form of redemption.
“I had a personal vendetta just to show them,” he said.
Davis emphasized that regaining respect was his primary motivation, and he came out strong after halftime to make his presence known.
Now, as the Lions prepare for their next game against the Indianapolis Colts, they continue to ride the wave of their recent success, with Davis eager to maintain his strong play.
