According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, the Detroit Lions are set to activate defensive tackle Brodric Martin from injured reserve.
While the official announcement has not been made, the Lions made room on their 53-man roster by placing safety Ifeatu Melifonwu on IR earlier in the day due to a new injury.
Martin, who has been out for a significant portion of the season, is expected to provide depth to the Lions’ defensive line as they head into the crucial part of the season.
The team has faced a series of injuries recently, making Martin’s return a timely reinforcement for their defensive front.
Lions head coach Dan Campbell spoke about Martin’s progress in a media session on Monday, noting his positive contributions during practice. “He’s been doing a good job,” Campbell said.
“He’s been solid on the practice squad, giving us a good look and working hard on his craft. We’d like to get him on the roster and see where it goes from there.”
With injuries continuing to impact the Lions, Martin’s activation is seen as a valuable step toward strengthening the team’s defensive line as they aim to remain competitive during the final stretch of the season.
