For the first time in franchise history, the Lions secure back-to-back 10-win seasons.
The Detroit Lions, originally founded in 1930 as the Portsmouth Spartans, have been part of the NFL since its inception.
However, in all those years, the franchise had never experienced back-to-back seasons with 10 or more wins—until now.
With their 10th victory this season, improving their record to 10-1, the Lions have matched their success from last year, when they finished with a 12-5 record.
This marks the first time in franchise history that Detroit has achieved double-digit wins in consecutive seasons.
Before this stretch, the Lions had only reached 10 or more wins in 10 other seasons: 1931, 1934, 1953, 1962, 1970, 1991, 1993, 1995, 2011, and 2014.
The franchise has rarely seen sustained success, making these recent accomplishments all the more significant.
This season’s Lions team, however, is different from the past. After making it to the NFC Championship Game last year, they’ve shown even greater improvement this season.
More than just achieving 10 wins, this team has set its sights higher, with a determination to capture a Super Bowl title.
They are no longer content with just a strong regular season—they aim for championship glory.
