Cowboys Gain Momentum with Encouraging News Ahead of Thanksgiving Matchup

The Dallas Cowboys head into their Thanksgiving Day tradition with renewed optimism, thanks to expert predictions and improved performances.

Despite a challenging season that has left the Dallas Cowboys with a 4-7 record and sidelined their franchise quarterback, Dak Prescott, the team has received some positive news just before their Thanksgiving clash against the New York Giants. This boost of confidence has fans hopeful as the Cowboys aim to capitalize on their rich Thanksgiving Day history.

Analysts Back the Cowboys to Win

A wave of NFL analysts and experts have thrown their support behind the Cowboys for Thursday’s matchup. Both teams are playing without their starting quarterbacks, leveling the playing field in what promises to be an unusual game.

In a November 27 analysis, all four NFL insiders from USA Today predicted a Cowboys victory. Richard Morin projected a decisive 27-13 win for Dallas, noting, “The sun shouldn’t be in their eyes with the late-afternoon start, so I like Dallas to make it two in a row against the floundering Giants.”

Another analyst, Tyler Dragon, called for a tighter 22-17 victory, stating, “The win should give Dallas confidence against a struggling and divided Giants squad.”

Further confidence came from the Cowboys’ own analysts, with all four contributors on the team’s official site predicting a win. Patrik Walker offered the boldest prediction, forecasting a 31-10 blowout. He commended the team’s recent improvements, saying, “OK, now I’m seeing some signs of life from the Cowboys’ offense… The defense has been steadily improving and was lights out against the touted Commanders.”

Giants’ Local Reporters Concede

Even the Giants’ own reporters appear to have low expectations for their team. In North Jersey, Bert Bainbridge predicted a 27-10 Cowboys win, citing the Giants’ lackluster performance against the Buccaneers. “With the season already over, there’s no reason to expect it to get much better in this spot on the road,” he remarked. Bainbridge also highlighted Micah Parsons’ potential for a standout performance, referencing his dominant display against the Giants on Thanksgiving two years ago.

A Thanksgiving Tradition

The Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Day game has been a hallmark of the franchise since 1966. Historically, Dallas holds a strong record of 33-22-1 in these games, as noted by Blake Silverman of Sports Illustrated. The team snapped a three-game losing streak on Thanksgiving in 2022 with a win against the Giants and is now looking to extend their streak to three consecutive victories on the holiday.

A Chance to Turn the Season Around

While their playoff hopes remain slim, the Cowboys’ Thanksgiving game offers an opportunity to regain momentum and end the season on a high note. With analysts and fans behind them, and signs of improvement on both offense and defense, the team is positioned to dominate their struggling rivals.

For Cowboys fans, there’s plenty to be thankful for this year—and a potential win on Thanksgiving could make the holiday even sweeter.
