Lions’ Jared Goff Reflects on Thrilling Thanksgiving Victory Over Bears
The Chicago Bears suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Detroit Lions due to late-game clock mismanagement. With just 32 seconds left in regulation, the Bears’ offense seemed unaware of the urgency required. Quarterback Caleb Williams tried to rally his teammates, urging them to hurry, but the offense failed to execute in time. By the time the ball was snapped, only a few seconds remained. A deep pass downfield ran out the clock, sealing the game in Detroit’s favor.
Goff Shares His Thanksgiving Win Experience
Speaking to CBS shortly after the Lions’ dramatic win, quarterback Jared Goff expressed his excitement over his first victory on Thanksgiving. As someone relatively new to Detroit’s holiday tradition, Goff appreciated the moment.
“It was awesome,” he shared, adding, “It had a crazy ending there, and we fought hard. We fought until the end and got it done. My first win on Thanksgiving. All of our first wins on Thanksgiving. It was big.”
Later, during a postgame press conference, Goff addressed the chaotic ending.
“It’s hard, man. The end-of-the-game stuff, it’s hard, it’s real-time decisions both sides are making,” he explained.
“It’s a lot of reps, a lot of time spent on situational stuff, and we came out on top today.”
Despite the tough loss for Chicago, Goff had praise for Caleb Williams’ performance.
“I thought Caleb played really well,” he said. “I’m sure we’ll have our battles for a long time, but he’s a good player and did a good job.”
Thanksgiving Traditions Add to the Memory
Goff also touched on the postgame Thanksgiving festivities, which included indulging in the traditional food on the field.
“It was actually pretty good. The stuffing was good,” he said with a smile. “We were having a good time. It’s awesome. It’s a memory I’ll have forever.”
The Lions’ thrilling win and the festive atmosphere created a moment Goff and his teammates won’t soon forget.
