After a big Thursday Night Football win, one Detroit Lions player became physically ill during a post-game speech from head coach Dan Campbell.
The Lions had just defeated their division rivals, the Green Bay Packers, thanks to a walk-off field goal from kicker Jake Bates, improving their record to 12-1 on the season.
In the locker room after the game, Campbell was addressing the team when backup offensive lineman Dan Skipper suddenly started vomiting.
Campbell noticed and called him out: “Offense, that’s a way to step up, man, that’s a way to step up – there you go, Skip, keep throwin’ up! Whatever you’re doing over there. That’s a way to freakin’ lay it on the line.”
Teammates laughed as the camera cut to Skipper hunched over and flushed red in the face.
Campbell kept his cool and continued his speech: “Guys, I’m so freakin’ proud of you, man. That’s a way to show up. You talk about pressure? We live in pressure.”
Detroit had trailed twice in the game against Green Bay but fought back to secure the win.
They first lost a 17-7 halftime lead, surrendering back-to-back touchdowns to the Packers. But they regained the advantage, taking a 24-21 lead into the final quarter.
Green Bay would briefly take the lead in the fourth, only for Detroit to respond with a touchdown.
The Packers then kicked a field goal with over three minutes remaining, tying the game and giving Detroit the ball back.
It took them 11 plays to move down the field, setting up a 35-yard field goal for Bates, who made it with ease.
Detroit has now won 11 straight games and has four more regular-season contests before the playoffs.
Their next game is against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
