Detroit Hosts Dan Campbell Lookalike Event, Coach Reacts with Humor Ahead of Lions’ Bye Week.

The Detroit Lions have played back-to-back Thursday night games against their rivals, the Bears and Packers, leaving Detroit football fans without their team this weekend as the Lions prepare for next week’s clash with the Buffalo Bills and star quarterback Josh Allen.

To fill the void, a group of fans in the Motor City has organized a Dan Campbell lookalike contest, hoping to keep the football spirit alive during the team’s extended break.

Lions coach Dan Campbell humorously reacted to the news, questioning the motivation behind the idea.

“I don’t know why you’d waste your time with that,” Campbell joked earlier this week before the Packers game.

“There’s got to be better things to do, unless the prize is actually worth it. Is there a legitimate prize? Maybe I’ll enter myself.”

Campbell, who guided the Lions to an NFC North title last season, now has his team in contention for the NFC’s top record and homefield advantage in the playoffs.

That advantage could be critical for Detroit’s Super Bowl aspirations, as challengers like Philadelphia, Minnesota, and others have proven capable of matching up with Campbell’s squad.

Last season, the Lions fell short in the NFC Championship Game on the road against San Francisco, following a dramatic second-half rally by coach Kyle Shanahan’s team.
