CeeDee Lamb is on track to make more history with the Dallas Cowboys.

A year ago, Lamb set numerous Cowboys franchise records in a spectacular season, setting new marks for receptions (135), receiving yards (1,749), and receiving yards per game (102.9).

However, while his 2024 season won’t match those staggering numbers, Lamb is still putting together a solid campaign. He currently ranks tied for second in receptions with 79 and tied for fifth in receiving yards with 880.

This performance is impressive, especially considering he’s been catching passes from Dak Prescott, who has had an inconsistent year, and backup Cooper Rush.

Moreover, Lamb has been consistently double- and even triple-teamed due to the Cowboys’ struggles at wide receiver, making his production even more remarkable.

Despite the challenges the Cowboys have faced this season, Lamb’s strong performance has flown under the radar.

What’s impossible to ignore, however, is how quickly he’s climbed up the Cowboys’ all-time receiving lists, especially when you consider the franchise’s rich history of pass-catching talent, from wide receivers to tight ends and running backs.

In just his fifth NFL season, Lamb already ranks seventh in franchise history in receptions (474), seventh in receiving yards (6,025), and 10th in receiving touchdowns (36).

He’s in a prime position to move up on at least two of these lists in the near future, potentially as soon as this Monday.

Currently sitting in seventh place in receptions, Lamb is closing in on the top five.

If he grabs six passes against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football, he’ll move into sixth place, surpassing Tony Hill, who caught 479 passes during his 10 years with the Cowboys.

A more ambitious goal for Lamb would be to catch 13 passes, which would push him into fifth place, surpassing Cowboys legend Emmitt Smith, who finished with 486 receptions over his 13 seasons in Dallas.

While 13 catches in one game may seem like a tall order, it’s worth noting that Lamb had 13 receptions for 146 yards earlier this season against the San Francisco 49ers.

In terms of receiving touchdowns, Lamb is currently in 10th place with 36.

He needs three more touchdowns to move up to ninth, which would push him past Terrell Owens, who recorded 38 touchdowns in just three seasons with the Cowboys.

While this might be more challenging, considering Lamb has only scored four touchdowns this year, it’s not impossible given some of the high-scoring games the Bengals have been involved in this season.

Lamb will likely remain in seventh place for receiving yards until next year, as he needs 1,271 yards to surpass “Bullet” Bob Hayes, who ranks sixth with 7,295 yards.

Nonetheless, Lamb’s continued progress up the all-time charts reflects his importance to the Cowboys’ offense and his potential to become one of the franchise’s greatest receivers.
