Dallas cowboys

Jerry Jones and Howie Roseman define the Cowboys-Eagles gap through vastly different management styles.

If it wasn’t already obvious, Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman had an exceptional offseason.

Only time will tell just how impactful it truly was.

From drafting rookie standouts Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean to hiring top coaches like Vic Fangio and Kellen Moore, and signing several key free agents, the Eagles leveraged a massive 2024 offseason to solidify their status as one of the NFL’s elite teams.

They’ve also created separation from NFC East rival, the Dallas Cowboys.

Two of their top free-agent pickups, linebacker Zach Baun and running back Saquon Barkley, have been standout performers, delivering All-Pro-caliber seasons.

One signing, however, not only changed the defensive mindset but also delivered his best performance of the year in Sunday’s victory over the Carolina Panthers—Chauncey Gardner-Johnson.

Roseman’s stellar offseason continues to pay dividends, especially with CJGJ bringing his aggressive style back to the defense, a big factor in the unit’s top-10 ranking across most major metrics.

The Eagles, now 11-2 and Super Bowl favorites, have left the 5-7 Cowboys in the rearview.

Dallas, meanwhile, is reportedly considering a “Blow It Up” strategy to rebuild for 2025. After years of alternating NFC East dominance, the gap between the two teams has become clear.

That gap mirrors the one between Roseman and the Jerry Jones-led Cowboys front office.
