The Detroit Lions revoked the season tickets of a fan who got into an altercation with Packers head coach Matt LaFleur
Last Thursday, the Detroit Lions faced the Green Bay Packers in an exciting NFC North showdown and managed to secure a 34-31 win after overcoming a second-half deficit.
Just before the game began, a fan at Ford Field had an altercation with Packers head coach Matt LaFleur, leading to a separation between the two.
The Lions organization responded swiftly by revoking the fan’s season tickets, informing him of the decision through an email.
“At this time, your season tickets have been revoked and your eligibility to become a Lions Loyal Member has been suspended indefinitely,” the email stated.
While some teams may be lenient when one of their fans harasses an opposing coach, the Lions took a firm stand on restoring decorum and acting decisively.
After a 12-5 finish and coming close to the NFC Championship Game last season, Detroit is having an extraordinary year, one that most of its fans have never witnessed.
With a 12-1 record, tying for the NFL’s best, many are starting to believe the Lions are on track to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy this winter.
Although the Lions won four NFL championships in 1935, 1952, 1953, and 1957, they’ve never played in a Super Bowl, let alone claimed victory. For much of the past 30 years, the team has been a source of ridicule.
But after a long stretch of failure, the Lions’ remarkable resurgence could soon lead them to an ultimate victory, a dream come true for the long-suffering sports fans of Detroit.
