Dan Campbell Provides Injury Updates on Alim McNeill and Carlton Davis III

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell provided updates on the injuries of interior defensive lineman Alim McNeill and cornerback Carlton Davis III after the team’s 48-42 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Davis was forced out of the game early due to a jaw injury, while McNeill was sidelined in the second half with a knee injury.

Campbell shared his concerns about both players during his post-game interview, expressing uncertainty about their recoveries. “I don’t feel good about either one of those guys,” Campbell remarked.

“Normally, when I say that, it means it’s not good for the rest of the season. So, I don’t feel good about it.”

Davis’s injury occurred in the second quarter when he was tackled awkwardly while trying to make a play.

He quickly exited the field and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

McNeill’s injury took place in the third quarter as he pressured Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

McNeill landed awkwardly on his knee and immediately appeared to be in pain. He limped off the field and did not return.

While Campbell expressed concern, he mentioned that the team would have a clearer picture of the injuries on Monday.

In addition to Davis and McNeill, cornerback Khalil Dorsey, who stepped in for Davis, also suffered a serious ankle injury late in the first half. Dorsey was carted off the field and taken to the hospital for further evaluation.

Campbell confirmed that Dorsey would be out for the remainder of the season.

The injuries add to the growing list of setbacks for the Lions, who are already in a tight race for both the NFC and NFC North titles.

With the playoffs approaching, these injuries could have a significant impact on the team’s chances in the final stretch of the season.
