Following the Detroit Lions’ 48-42 loss to the Buffalo Bills and a series of key injuries, many fans have voiced concerns about the team’s future. However, Lions quarterback Jared Goff is here to assure the fanbase that there is no need to panic.
“The mood in the building is fine,” Goff said today on 97.1 The Ticket. “Yes, there have been some injuries. Outside, it feels like the sky is falling, but inside, everything is good. I mentioned it after the game that everyone would say the sky is falling, but we’re doing fine.”
Goff’s comments respond to the growing concerns among fans about the impact of injuries to key players such as David Montgomery, Alim McNeill, Carlton Davis III, and Khalil Dorsey. Despite these setbacks, Goff emphasized that the Lions won’t use injuries as an excuse.
“We refuse to use injuries as an excuse. We’re gonna be just fine,” Goff stated. “We have all the pieces we need. Dan [Campbell] said it earlier, we have plenty of guys on defense who will step up and take advantage of great opportunities. On offense, we’ll keep pushing forward.”
High Aspirations for the Future
When asked about the team’s outlook despite recent challenges, Goff responded confidently. “I’m telling you right now we can,” he said. “Don’t be upset, we’re fine. We’re 12-2, we’ve got three games left. We’re in a great position.”
Goff’s message to Lions fans was clear: While external negativity might be mounting, the team’s attitude remains positive, and they are confident in their ability to continue thriving. With three games remaining in the regular season, the Lions are in an excellent spot, and Goff believes they’re fully capable of overcoming any challenges ahead.
As the team moves toward the playoffs, Goff’s leadership and Campbell’s fiery spirit will be crucial in keeping the Lions focused and motivated. Despite the injuries and setbacks, the Lions are prepared to finish strong and prove they’re ready for a deep postseason run.
