Tiger Woods’ teenage son, Charlie, hit his first hole-in-one during the final round of the PNC Championship, though they lost the title in a play-off to Bernhard and Jason Langer.
Charlie Woods, 15, sank his ace on the par-three fourth, propelling the father-son duo into the lead at the family-centric tournament featuring 20 major champions.
However, Team Langer secured their second consecutive trophy—and fourth overall—when German golfer Bernhard made eagle on the first play-off hole in Orlando, Florida.
“It was incredible,” Charlie said. “Everyone played flawlessly today. This was some of the most fun I’ve ever had. Plus, I made an ace. I don’t think anything can top that.”
Tiger Woods, competing in his first event since the Open in July, acknowledged he wasn’t in peak form following back surgery in September, his second in 18 months.
Despite this, the 15-time major champion celebrated their performance. “We made a great team this week. Sharing this experience with family was the best part,” the 48-year-old said.
Charlie wasn’t the only golfer to achieve a first hole-in-one on Sunday. Just 30 minutes later, Paddy Harrington, 21, son of three-time major winner Padraig Harrington, aced the eighth hole.
“I’ve never been that excited before after hitting a shot,” said Padraig Harrington.
Who is Charlie Woods?
Charlie Woods, born on February 9, 2009, is the son of Tiger Woods and his ex-wife Elin Nordegren.
The couple, married in 2004, had two children—Charlie and his older sister Sam, born in 2007—before divorcing in 2010.
Charlie became the youngest competitor at the PNC Championship in 2020, playing alongside Tiger at just 11 years old.
Since then, the pair have steadily improved their results, including a second-place finish in 2024.
Earlier this year, Charlie missed qualifying for a PGA Tour event after shooting a 16-over 86 at the Cognizant Classic pre-qualifier.
In July, he also missed the cut at the US Junior Amateur Championship, finishing 22 over after two rounds.
