Jared Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown Respond to Jameson Williams’ Controversial Remark

Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams, celebrated for his incredible speed on the field, recently made a statement that sparked conversation among teammates and fans alike.

The confident Williams boldly claimed he could run a 40-yard dash in just 4.1 seconds, a time that would place him among the fastest athletes in the sport’s history.

“I think I can. I probably could run faster,” Williams declared when discussing his abilities.

“I saw someone say they don’t believe it’s a 4.1, but I do. People who know me know I can hit that mark.”

Though Williams has not officially recorded a 40-yard dash time, he referenced the popular video game Madden to support his claim.

In the game, his speed rating is an impressive 98, and he believes that reflects his real-life capabilities. “I never ran a 40-yard dash, and that’s what I’m saying—I never needed to,” Williams explained.

“If Madden respects me enough to give me 98 speed, that’s a 4.1. If I were rated a 99, it would be closer to 3.9 or 4.0.”

Williams is confident that Madden accurately portrays his speed, even if there isn’t real-world evidence to back it up.

His statement quickly caught the attention of teammates, including quarterback Jared Goff, who responded with humor when asked if Williams could achieve such a feat.

“Yeah, I guess if he says so,” Goff said, laughing. “We’d have to measure it at some point.

He’s quick, but he’s not easy to catch for a 40-yard measurement. If he says 4.1, then we’ll hold him to it.”

Amon-Ra St. Brown, a fellow wide receiver and teammate, also chimed in with a playful response.

While he admires Williams’ speed, St. Brown expressed some doubt about the claim.

“I love Jamo, but 4.1? I don’t know if he’s hitting that,” St. Brown said with a laugh. “That’s wild, man.”

Despite the light-hearted skepticism from Goff and St. Brown, Williams remains unfazed.

His self-assurance and belief in his abilities reflect the kind of confidence that fuels his performance on the field.

Even without an official 40-yard dash time, his raw speed is undeniable and makes him a key weapon in the Lions’ offense.

For the Detroit Lions, Williams’ exceptional speed is a critical asset. Whether or not he can live up to his claim of a 4.1-second dash, his blazing pace and fearlessness add an exciting dimension to the team.

As the Lions continue their push for success this season, Williams’ contributions will be vital to their offensive strategy.

Ultimately, Williams’ audacious statement has sparked some light-hearted banter in the locker room while also reminding everyone of the elite speed he brings to the team.

Whether or not he can prove his claim, his confidence and talent make him a player to watch as the Lions aim to finish the season strong.
